1 Peter 1:2-10 Pete calls upon the church, the body of Christ to long for the pure milk of the word of GOD and ties that desire to the work that GOD is doing in building His church more broadly. By desiring more of GOD, we find ourselves working with Him for His glory and our best and highest good. story!
1 Peter 1:14-23, Exile serves two great purposes in the Old Testament. It prepared the people of Israel to return home, in effect, helped them to get their minds right. The other great purpose is that it displayed the uniqueness of the GOD of Israel before a people who otherwise would not have heard of Him. Peter makes the point that this is where we are living now!
This Easter morning, we took some time to reconnect to the grander story, trekking with Jesus from the Mount of Transfiguration to Calvary and beyond! Death is never the end of the Christian story!
Jesus told us that the poor would be with always. We are taking a look at the issue of poverty and are trying to understand what it is so that we can address its true causes.
The key to contentment is remembering who we are in Christ and serving Him from hearts of love.
The whole earth is out of balance as the end of the age draws nearer. How is the Christian to respond in times such as these?
